- Tools : Drawing and type tools, transformation tools, selection tools, magnification and navigation tools.
- Working : Adding text, working with character and paragraph styles, graphics, objects, object styles.
- Pages : Custom document settings, master pages, adding pages, rearranging and deleting pages, sections for page numbering, spread.
- Objects : Layers, creating and modifying text frames, creating and modifying graphic frames, adding metadata captions, placing and linking graphic frames, wrapping text, transforming shape of frames, transforming and aligning objects, selecting and modifying grouped objects, lines and arrowheads, QR code.
- Flowing Text : Flowing text into an existing frame, flowing text manually, threaded frames, flowing text automatically, applying paragraph styles, adjusting columns, baseline grid, page number.
- Editing : Finding and changing a missing font, importing text, finding and changing text and formatting, checking spelling, story editor, tracking changes.
- Typography : adjusting vertical spacing, working with fonts, type styles and glyphs, working with columns, changing paragraph alignment, drop cap, letter and word spacing, line breaks, setting tabs, working with paragraph shading and rules.
- Colour : Managing colour, defining printing requirements, creating colours, applying colours, tint swatches, gradients, colour groups.
- Styles : Creating and applying paragraph styles, creating and applying character styles, nesting character styles inside paragraph styles, creating and applying object styles, globally updating styles, loading styles from another document.
- Importing and Modifying Graphics : Adding graphics from other programs, managing lnks to imported files, updating revised graphics, adjusting display quality, importing and sizing graphics, editing placed pictures, working with dropped backgrounds, importing native Adobe graphic files, using InDesign library.
- Tables : Creating a table, converting text to a table, changing rows and columns, formatting a table, adding graphic to table cells, header row, creating and applying table and cell styles.
- Transparency : Importing and colouring a grayscale image, transparency settings, Adding transparency effects to imported vector and bitmap graphics, importing and adjusting Illustrator files that use transparency, transparency setting for text, working with effects.
- Printing and Exporting : Preflighting files, previewing separations, managing colours, previewing transparency effects, previewing pages, Adobe PDF, PDF presets, printing and saving a print preset, packaging files.
- Form Fields : Adding form fields, tab order, submit button, exporting interactive PDF and testing.
- Fixed Layout EPUB : Creating a new document for fixed layout export, EPUB – reflowable versus fixed layout, adding animation, buttons, adding multimedia and interactive elements, exporting an EPUB.
